How to Help Your Team Enjoy Working Together to Boost Productivity

If you have ever been part of a group of people working to accomplish a shared goal or complete a project, then you have been part of a team.

Being part of a team can be an exciting and fulfilling experience. It can also be a nightmarish period that drives your stress levels through the roof. Thousands of people leave teams daily because the dynamics are too combative.

The departure of team members can setback a project timeline and increase costs for time-sensitive projects. The energy and focus of the team is compromised, sometimes even harmed. It takes time to establish new relationships with new team members.

 In my 22 years as a Conflict Analyst, my work has included helping disputing teams to become more collaborative. I shared strategies to effectively re-energize and refocus team members and their desire to collaborate. These are customized to the size and needs of each organization.

Once, I was asked to work with a team that had replaced all of its members three times. I had to find out the cause of this high turnover rate. Due to the stressful demands of a particular project, team members needed a very high level of collaborative trust in order to be successful.
