Sexual Harassment Incidents will Negatively Impact the Interpersonal Wellness of Your Workplace
I believe sexual harassment where there is a lack of interpersonal awareness. Since we all have sexual drives and urges, we have a responsibility to ensure that we manage those appropriately. This is no different from learning manners at home or school if you missed it at home, and unfortunately at work if other avenues fail.
We need to develop the interpersonal awareness to know when, how and where and with whom to express our sexual interests, conversations and gestures. Many people miss the social cues because they lack overall interpersonal awareness. They are only able to think of their feelings and wants regardless of the appropriateness of the situation.
Often people will tell me that they did not intend to for something to have a negative impact. While that is fine, sexual harassment is about the impact and not one’s intention.
The other major issue with sexual harassment incidents is the impact it has on the relational well-being and interpersonal wellness of everyone. In this video I talk about how these incidents cause major distractions and waste countless of productive hours.
