Fears are a part of all our lives. We can choose to give into our fears or we can choose to embrace our fears. Embracing fear includes examining the source of those fears and making peace with them. Too often we let our fears hold us back from doing something amazingly great in life, for ourselves and for others.

Fears are limiting and they are more prevalent when we are about to do something extraordinary or something great. The greater the risk to our way of being the greater the fears. Have you ever had a big audacious goal only to realize that you are going to have to make some huge sacrifices or that you are going to have to change the way you are or do things? Fears are a huge challenge in we have to face daily.

Not all of us are able to face our fears and some of our fears lead to anxiety and mental health diseases. Here are a few things you can do to assess your fears as part of the process of embracing them.

  1. Ask yourself if what you are about to do will be a benefit to others and to your life?
  2. Ask yourself if the new goal or action aligns with your values?
  3. Ask yourself if the fears you are experiencing is leading you forward or holding you back?
  4. Ask yourself what would change in your life if you gave into your fears and what would be different if you move past this fear?
