Here are clues to help you decide if you can consider yourself a Relational Leader

The body of knowledge on the relational leadership theory has grown significantly in the last decade, yet we have not seen an increase in relational leaders in influential roles. Lately, it seems that those in the highest office of leadership are displaying tendencies that are anything but relational.

Relational leaders are interdependent, meaning that they relate to those they lead in a positive and impactful way that inspires growth. They lead with resonance having a positive influence on their constituent. They are admired, respected and receive praise and gratitude for taking care of others.

Interestingly, these leaders experience lower levels of stress than those who don’t. They experience less turmoil and fewer episodes of contention and resistance from others.

I created the WIS® Relational Leadership Framework to show the comprehensive with a four-stage development path that helps leaders develop a relational focus, enabling them to view themselves as interdependent to those they lead.

This competency-based approach fosters interpersonal relational competencies that help them relate better with their teams and foster the same among team members.

If you have an opportunity to adopt a relational approach, please do so. This approach attracts current and emerging leaders who desire to develop their coaching skills and gain professional development to become leaders who excel at engaging with an increasingly diverse and relational workforce.

A key attraction of the WIS® Relational Leadership approach is the Workplace Wellness and Resilience building focus for leaders. The program had an increase in enrollment this year and we now have a waiting list for this fall since the program is offered several times per year. To learn more about the WIS RL concept and courses, or to get on the waiting list to secure your spot in the next RL cohort click here.

We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about RL, the program length or format. Please contact us or leave a comment below.
